How God birthed and expanded the Foursquare National Evangelists (FONE) body.
The vision of the Foursquare National Evangelists was conceived by our former General Overseer, Rev. Felix Meduoye. Early in the year 2011, he invited Rev. Moses Omogunwa to write a proposal on the formation of the Council of Foursquare Evangelists (COFE). Rev. Omogunwa then invited Pastors Wale Odubanjo and Bayo Aderibigbe to join in the preparation of the document.
The proposal was submitted without delay. Our former General Overseer, Rev. Felix Meduoye, commissioned the then Director of Missions and Evangelism, Rev. Dr. David Oluwasina, Rev. Adebayo Adebisi, and the team of Rev. Omogunwa to consider the proposal. The committee finally agreed to adopt the name Foursquare National Evangelists (FONE) as against Council of Foursquare Evangelists (COFE) in October 2012. Rev. Adebayo Adebisi was asked to join the newly formed group. Under a humble agreement, Rev. Moses Omogunwa stepped down for Rev. Adebayo Adebisi to serve as the Pioneer Coordinator of FONE. FONE was launched on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at the Foursquare International Conference Centre, Idimu.
The pioneer executives and assisting evangelists served under the Chairmanship of Rev. Adebayo Adebisi and Deputy Chairmanship of Rev. Moses Omogunwa. They included: Henry Obialor, Sunday Ashe, Godbless Obasi, Mike Ajewole, James Bamidele, Adelakun Adodo, Evangelist Kemi Daniel, the late Gbenga Oluwarimisola (Treasurer), Esther Adekunle David, and Ayo Adeyibi as Secretary.
In 2015, Evangelist Moses Omogunwa, serving as Deputy Chairman, took over the mantle of leadership with an expanded executive board. Under his leadership, the organisation grew significantly. Following his demise in January 2021, Ayo Adeyibi acted as Chairman until November 2021.
In November 2021, our father in the Lord, the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Sam Aboyeji, appointed Evangelist Idowu Bashiru as Chairman of FONE. Under his dynamic leadership, many District Chapters have been successfully inaugurated across the nation.
